It’s a great week here at The Spiel Foundation.

900 game bundles (over 5,000 games) left our humble warehouse on Tuesday, starting their journey to organizations in need in underserved communities across the US and Canada, and around the world!

It took THREE big trucks to load all the parcels. I am ever grateful for the help of Erwin Susara and Michael McMann for braving the extreme heat to help each bundle start its adventure to a new home. Thanks to our amazing postal workers Gary and Robin as well.

Each game bundle is an invitation to play

…a reminder that the door to play and games is open to all.

…a gentle nudge to give yourself permission to play whenever life allows.

Each game bundle is an ambassador carrying our message and our mission. A single box of games reaches dozens, hundreds, even thousands of players over time.

Our goal is to make the world just a little more playful. The more people learn to play together, the better – the more understanding and compassionate – the world can be.

We hope each and every bundle brings hours of fun and a spark of playfulness to its new home.

Including this wave, The Spiel Foundation has now delivered over 15,000 games in the last two years!

And we’re just getting started.

We are a global non-profit organizations focused on the positive power of play. Each passing year we develop more meaningful partnerships within the game industry and with communities around the world.

We’ve been very very close in recent months to acquiring our own home, a building to serve as the hub for all our activities – The DeKoven Center for Play. It will house a warehouse for the bundle program and community play/event space with a massive game library.

We are actively pursuing several properties now. If the real estate gods smile on us, our hope is to be in a facility come next year. With a place to call our own, the sky’s the limit for what we can do.

In order to keep going… and growing, though, we need your help.

Our quixotic quest needs as many Champions of Fun as it can get.
